1000 BC
Until about 200 AD, years of inspiration began in the Aztecs’ hands. The Aztecs called their fermented drink, pulque.1400s-1500s
1400s through the 1500s, the Spanish began to distill mud and agave, known as mezcal. Mid-1500s, Spanish government started the first mezcal trade route.1600s
The Marquis of Altamira built the first large-scale distillery in what is now Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico.1700s-1800s
Modern Tequila is born. The Cuervo family and Sauza Family both start producing tequila and the world is in love.1936
